The Hidden Frame – Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 1st October 2025

By booking with The Hidden Frame, you agree to the following terms and conditions. These apply to all hide bookings, 1:1 workshops, and any services provided by Steve Smith.

1. Booking the Hide

The hide is available seven days a week.

A full-day hire costs £90.00 per person and includes access from sunrise until 4.00pm.

Opening times vary throughout the year depending on daylight hours.

Extended stays are available until dusk for an additional £10 per hour, payable in cash only on the day.

All bookings must be made in advance via our website: www.thehiddenframe.co.uk or by contacting us directly at hello@thehiddenframe.co.uk.

2. 1:1 Workshop Sessions

One-to-one tuition is available as an optional add-on to hide hire.

Tuition is designed for beginners to intermediate photographers.

The session may include guidance on:

Manual camera settings (shutter speed, aperture, ISO)

Focusing techniques

Birds in flight and static composition

Wildlife behaviour and anticipation techniques

The workshop is charged at £25 per hour, with a minimum of 2 hours.

This is in addition to the £90 daily hide hire fee.

We recommend contacting Steve in advance to discuss your goals and ideal duration.

3. Payment Terms

Full payment is required at the time of booking unless otherwise agreed.

Payment for extended hours beyond 4:00pm must be made in cash on the day of your visit.

Payment is accepted via our website, unless agreed directly by email or phone.

4. Cancellations & Refunds

Cancellations made more than 72 hours before your booking are eligible for a full refund or free rescheduling.

Cancellations made within 72 hours of your booking are non-refundable, though we may offer to reschedule at our discretion.

If we need to cancel due to severe weather, access issues, or other unforeseen circumstances, you will be offered a full refund or reschedule.

5. Your Responsibilities

All guests must behave respectfully while on site. Loud noises, littering, and disruptive behaviour may result in early termination of your session without refund.

Wildlife must not be disturbed or baited under any circumstances.

Please follow any safety instructions provided by Steve or visible on signage.

6. Equipment & Clothing

Visitors are responsible for bringing suitable camera gear and clothing.

For best results, we recommend:

A camera with manual controls

Lenses of at least 400mm (600mm+ for raptors)

Spare batteries and memory cards

Warm, waterproof clothing and sturdy footwear

A gas heater is available inside the hide if needed during colder months.

7. Accessibility & Facilities

Access to the hide may involve uneven ground or natural surfaces. Please contact us in advance if you have accessibility concerns.

Toilet facilities may be limited; details will be provided at time of booking.

8. Photography and Content Usage

All photos taken during your session are yours to keep and use as you wish.

We may ask your permission to share your photos on our social channels or website — entirely optional.

Please credit “The Hidden Frame” when sharing images publicly that were taken at the hide (where appropriate).

9. Liability

While every effort is made to ensure your safety, The Hidden Frame and Steve Smith are not liable for:

Loss or damage to personal belongings

Injuries sustained while on site due to natural hazards

Weather conditions affecting your session

Entry is at your own risk. You are responsible for your own safety and equipment.
